  • NAPLAN: above state and local school average results in both Literacy and Numeracy
  • ICAS University Tests: 69 children competed with results including: High Distinction x 1, Distinction x 10, Credit x 22 and Merit x 10
  • ·Annual one on one Maths Assessment Interviews at the start of each year to identify each child’s mathematical understanding
  • ·Maths Extension Group which includes participation in competitions: Maths Olympiad & Newcastle Permanent Maths Competition receiving High Distinction, Distinction and Merit awards
  • Maths intervention groups for Year One children
  • Writing and Reading Extension Groups for select children in Years 4, 5 & 6
  • Public speaking: whole school program and competition. 1st and 3rd place in the Southern Central Coast Yr 6 competition
  • Debating: participation in Central Coast competition
  • Tournament of the Minds: participation in the Newcastle competition, which challenges students’ thinking, creativity and group work
  • Science Group for selected children in Yrs 2, 3 & 4 with challenges using STEM challenges
  • Robotics Group for selected students in Yrs 4 & 5 encouraging programming and computational thinking
  • IT: mobile devices across the school this year totals 233.


  • Central Coast Soccer, Netball and Touch Football Gala Days with Yr 5 & 6  teams placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd
  • ·Central Coast Rugby Tournament: 1st place then onto NSWCPS Rugby Gala Day at St Joseph’s College Hunters’ Hill
  • Central Coast Cricket competition: 2nd place
  • Gymnastics program for Kinder to Yr 4
  • Swimming program for Kinder to Yr 2
  • Surf awareness program for Yrs 3—6
  • Cross Country Running: 63 students representing the CC at Diocesan level
  • Growing number of students going onto participate at the CCC Swimming carnival
  • New and varied playground equipment

Creative Arts

  • Choir: Central Coast Choral Festival
  • Concert Band: Gold medal at the 2016 Band Festival
  • Training Band: Gold medal at the 2016 Band Festival
  • End of year concert involving the choir, band and whole performance of the musical, Aladdin Trouble
  • Dance Group


  • Weekly masses for stage groups
  • Whole school masses twice a term
  • Reconciliation once a term for Yrs 3—6
  • Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament each term for every class
  • Bishop Peter Comensoli visited the school for a day and celebrated mass with the whole school
  • Awareness prayer, The Examen, used throughout whole school
  • Mini Vinnies group have raised funds and awareness for: Project compassion, St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal, Catholic Mission, Sock it to Poverty Appeal, Vinnies Christmas Appeal


  • Meditation sessions: every term a trained facilitator teaches self-calming techniques to each class
  • PATCH group: positive activities to create happiness
  • SWEL club: social and emotional wellbeing
  • Bucket Filling: helping without being asked, and generally spreading  love and good feelings to others.  
  • Break Time Clubs: pop up play stations, drawing tables, craft areas, train track and car mat, cubby house
